What we do

We're passionate about helping people out of homelessness.
Citadel is a homelessness prevention project which uses volunteers to support people at risk of experiencing homelessness and to help them find and/or sustain tenancies.
The aim of Citadel is to help people to find a stronghold within themselves, to build resilience so that they are less likely to end up homeless and can maintain their tenancy.

Who do we support

Individuals referred to Citadel will be supported whilst they are experiencing homelessness and in order to sustain their tenancy. This may be through:
Emotional support
Volunteers are matched with someone who needs on-going support
Possible tasks include:
• Coffee and a chat
• Help registering with a GP
• Setting up utilities
• Budgeting
• Going to appointments together
Time: 1hr per week for 3-6 months
Practical support
You'll offer vital, practical support to help people sustain their tenancies
Possible tasks include:
• Small DIY tasks
• Delivering food parcels
• Sourcing household items
Time required: Flexible.

No

Can anyone use this service?

Yes a referral is necessary either by directly contacting Citadel (Housing Justice Cymru) or through Housing Options in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot or Wrexham.

Office hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
