What we do

The Occupational Therapy Service works with people over the age of 18 who have a substantial and permanent disability in order to maximise independence and enable them to meet their well-being outcomes. We address everyday activities in peoples homes that disabilities make difficult or impossible. We look into ways of resolving these difficulties by identifying and eliminating environmental barriers to independence through the provision of equipment and adaptations.

The Occupational Therapy Service also undertakes reviews of packages of care in order to ensure that they are right sized and meet the individuals identified needs.

We could help you by -

- giving you information and advice on other ways of doing things
- by providing advice and information over the phone
- lending you equipment, fitting it if needed, and showing you how to use it
- support for minor or major adaptations to your home
- referring you to other support services if appropriate
