Have choice and take control
Escapes, supported by the BFI awarding National Lottery funding, returns to Brynamman Cinema on Monday 8th July with a special preview of gripping South Korean horror film SLEEP. This month sees Escapes taking its audience on a nocturnal trip full of twists and turns with this horror-thriller about an escalating case of somnambulism and the effects it has on a happily married couple. Directed by Jason Yu, the assistant director to Oscar-winning director Bong Joon-ho, Sleep stars Lee Sun-kyun (best known for his leading role in Best Picture winner Parasite) as a sleep-walking husband opposite Jung Yu-mi, who plays his pregnant wife. Premiering at Cannes’ Critics Week, Sleep is a deeply unique take on the horror genre and a startling debut feature from Yu.
With the opportunity to watch the film ahead of its official UK release date, free tickets are available to encourage everyone to discover, or rediscover, independent cinema.
