What we do

Escapes, supported by the BFI awarding National Lottery funding, returns to Brynamman Cinema on Monday 8th July with a special preview of gripping South Korean horror film SLEEP.

This month sees Escapes taking its audience on a nocturnal trip full of twists and turns with this horror-thriller about an escalating case of somnambulism and the effects it has on a happily married couple. Directed by Jason Yu, the assistant director to Oscar-winning director Bong Joon-ho, Sleep stars Lee Sun-kyun (best known for his leading role in Best Picture winner Parasite) as a sleep-walking husband opposite Jung Yu-mi, who plays his pregnant wife. Premiering at Cannes’ Critics Week, Sleep is a deeply unique take on the horror genre and a startling debut feature from Yu.
