What we do

Cyfannol Women's Aid supports people in Torfaen, Monmouthshire, Newport, Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly who have experienced Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse or Sexual Violence (VAWDASV). Our mission is to empower women and children to flourish in a life free from VAWDASV.

We deliver a range of domestic abuse support services across Gwent. Our refuges in Torfaen, Monmouthshire, Newport, Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly offer safe accommodation for women, children and men in Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly. In the community, we provide drop-in and floating support, deliver the Own My Life course and Recovery Toolkit, and support children and young people via group work, mentoring, the Break4Change programme, and our specialist young person's IDVA service.

We also provide specialist support to survivors of sexual violence across Gwent via our Horizon services, which include counsellors, group work and our specialist exploitation team.

Who do we support

We support women and their children, single women and women with complex needs in our refuges and also men in Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly.

We offer community-based drop-in services and groupwork programmes for women, with floating support available to women in Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent who require longer-term support.

In addition to services for women, we deliver specialist children and young people's projects across Gwent. Our floating support and drop-in services in Blaenau Gwent are available to women and men.

The above support is available whether the individual is still experiencing abuse, is planning on leaving or has recently left, or is experiencing the longer-term after effects of domestic abuse.

Our Horizon sexual violence counselling and group-work services are available to women and men in Gwent. Our Sexual Exploitation Advocacy Support Service supports women who have been, or are at risk of being, sexually exploited.

This service is for people of all ages.
