What we do

The Barry Wellbeing Centre's aim is to improve the health & wellbeing of older people in the Vale of Glamorgan.
We provide
• A place to meet & make new friends helping to reduce isolation.
• A café that serves refreshments, open Weekday mornings.
• Healthy Ageing opportunities across the Vale of Glamorgan.
• A one stop shop for information provided by Age Connect Cardiff & Vale, volunteers trained as dementia friends.
• Information clinics provided by partner organisations.
• Volunteering opportunities to get older people involved in the community.
• A variety of exercise, craft, and social classes all of which are dementia friendly.

Who do we support

Older people, anyone can attend the Café. All our staff and volunteers are trained as dementia friends and we would consider all of our activities dementia friendly.
Timetable is currently as follows:
Monday 9.30-11am Knit and Knatter,
Tuesday - Open
Wednesdays 10.30am - Monthly Therapeutic activities from Cwmpasot & 2pm Musical singalongs
Thursday 10.30-11.15am Tai Chi £3
Friday 10.30-12pm Bingo
Please check before attending in case anything has changed.

This service is for people aged 60+.

Is there a charge to use this service?

Depends - Individual classes have a cost as well as café menu items.

Anyone can come along to the Wellbeing Centre
