Have choice and take control
The service provides floating support to older individuals to help them to be able to successfully remain living in their own home and remain living independently. The support provided is person centred and aligned to the goals the person themselves wishes to acheive. Typical support provided includes support with financial difficulties, independence in their home, linking themselves into the local community, maintaining a safe and secure environment and dealing with a range of home related issues. Individuals who have highly chaotic lifestyles have benefited mostly from this service which is funded through the Supporting People Programme. Support is meant to be tapered and reduce over time as the personal resilience of the service user increases.
