What we do

We provide Information, Advice and Assistance, as well as Care and Support, to help people make informed choices in the maintenance of their wellbeing, independence and safety. We can discuss what matters to you and the different opportunities available in your community.

Adult Social Care Services are provided to adults who are resident in the Vale of Glamorgan and are split into specialist areas:

• Long Term Care for older adults and adults with physical and sensory disabilities.
• Community Mental Health Services for adults with mental health problems.
• Community Learning Disability Services for adults with learning disabilities.

You can contact us to request a carers assessment.

The service acts as a single point of access (SPoA) for the Vale of Glamorgan.

Who do we support

-Adults who are 18 years or over and live in the Vale of Glamorgan
-Those who look after adults who are 18 and over (carers)

It is more likely you will be assessed as needing care and support if you:
• are older or frail
• have physical or learning disability
• have a mental health issue
• are vulnerable for other reasons such as
• an alcohol or substance misuse issue
• not able to protect self from harm

Or you are a carer supporting an adult or adults with care and support needs.

Is there a charge to use this service?

Depends - You may be asked to pay toward the cost of any Care and Support that you receive dependent upon a Financial. You will be informed of all charges throughout the process

Can anyone use this service?

Anyone can make a referral or contact the service by contacting C1V (details below).
