Have choice and take control
Coedpoeth Befrienders is a befriending service which supports people who are isolated or lonely, due to frailty, old age or chronic illness, or due to the responsibility of caring for a loved one. Our trained volunteer befrienders help in whatever way seems appropriate. This may be phoning for a chat, calling in for a cup of tea, or more practical help such as helping with shopping or attending appointments or local activities. The client and volunteer agree this between them.Befriending does not involve personal care or health care but rather companionship and a willingness to help the person to live their life more fully and maintain contact with their local community. The volunteer offers a couple of hours each week to do this.
Adults living in the villages of Coedpoeth, Gwynfryn, Minera and Bwlchgwyn.
This service is for people aged 18+.
