What we do

Home-Start Ceredigion is an independent registered charity and was set up in 1992 to support families. The small staff team recruits and trains local volunteers and carefully matches them with local families who need support. The scheme is managed by a board of volunteer trustees and is responsible for raising all its own funds. We are funded by local authority grants and grant making trusts enabling us to provide home visiting and support groups at no cost to families.

Who do we support

Many parents need help, friendship, advice or support during those early years when children are young. There is no rulebook for raising a family and sometimes it can seem overwhelming, particularly if your family is going through difficult times. Our volunteers are all parents themselves and understand the difficulties families may be facing. Many parents who have been supported by Home-Start go on to become volunteers themselves and access our accredited training courses, giving them a start on the ladder to further education or employment.
