What we do

Vale of Glamorgan Shared Lives (formerly VOG Adult Placement Service) is a model of care whereby vulnerable adults receive support and / or accommodation within a family environment provided by approved Shared Lives Carers (formerly Hosts)
We assess and train the Carers . We 'match' Carers' and service users and monitor placements so that both Carers and Services Users benefit from the placement.
We work in partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council.

Who do we support

Vulnerable people over the age of 18.

Carers come from a wide range of backgrounds and have varied work and life experiences and interests. The people who use Shared Lives are as varied as our Carers. Some of the service users live with Carers for many years and some stay for one or two years while they learn the skills to live on their own. Carers also provide short breaks and day / or evening support to service users.

This service is for people aged 18+.

Is there a charge to use this service?

Depends - Subject to a financial assessment
Anyone accommodated in a long term placement will be required to pay a client contribution.

Can anyone use this service?

Referrals are accepted from Community Support Teams following an assessment of individual needs.

Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
