Have choice and take control
We offer free support, information, advice and advocacy to parent carers of children with a disability or additional need. The parent of a child with a disability or mental health issue may not immediately identify themselves as a carer. However, the extra responsibilities and pressures that come with this form of caring can often have a long-term affect parents. Our aim is to ensure that parent carers are fully aware of their rights and entitlements, and are supported to continue in their caring role, whilst also maintaining their emotional and physical wellbeing. We also run support groups specifically for parent carers, to enable them to build relationships with others in similar situations, to learn from each other, and to share their stories.
