What we do

Sir Julian Hodge Hostel is a 25-bedroom hostel in Cardiff providing shelter and support to single homeless people.

The Wallich’s first ever hostel, which opened in 1978, still to this day provides accommodation and support to people with a variety of support needs.

All residents meet regularly with their own support worker:

- Offering personal development
- Access to appropriate services – for example, drug and alcohol support, mental health
- Advice on seeking permanent accommodation
- Each resident has their own living space, for their own privacy.

Everyone has access to shared communal living rooms to build up their social skills and take part in organised activities.

The hostel includes laundry facilities, bathrooms and showers.

As with most of our hostels, we can accommodate dogs so that owners aren’t separated from their pets, which can cause distress.

We want to provide innovative and trauma-informed services.

This service is for people aged 18+.
