What we do

Hourglass Cymru is the only national charity dedicated to calling time on the harm and abuse of older people.

We support those experiencing (or at risk of) harm, as well as raising awareness and advocating effective prevention.

We’re part of the UK-wide organisation Hourglass, previously Action on Elder Abuse - the only charity in the UK working exclusively on challenging the abuse of older people in all its forms.

Who do we support

Concerned about the abuse of older people?

We provide the only national helpline for people concerned about or experiencing abuse.

Our experienced Helpline Information Officers can help you make the best choice to keep yourself safe and put you in touch with the appropriate agencies.

This service is for people aged 60+.

Anyone can call our Helpline on: 0808 808 8141 Our Helpline is open 24/7 – including weekends and bank holidays. It’s entirely confidential, free to call from a landline or mobile and will not appear on your phone bill.
