What we do

Located at facilities across South East Wales, Vision 21 (Cyfle Cymru) supports life-changing opportunities for people with learning disabilities to realise their potential.

V21 Café @ Rookwood is located in the waiting area of the busy Artificial Limbs and Appliances Centre at Cardiff's Rookwood Hospital.

As a trainee here, you will have the opportunity to develop your catering skills by providing food and refreshments to hospital staff, visitors and patients. You will also receive food hygiene training, and learn all the tasks of working in a café.

You will have lots of opportunities to gain social skills and confidence as you work with the general public.

Together, we will develop a training plan to suit you. You could learn skills such as:

Food preparation and using kitchen equipment.
Maintaining, cleaning and wearing kitchen uniform.
Making sandwiches and baguettes.
Serving hot and cold food and drinks.
Using a till and handling money

This service is for people aged between 14 years and 100 years.
