What we do

South Powys Youth Music (SPYM) provides high quality, low cost, group musical tuition, inspiring and nurturing young musicians in South Powys

Who do we support

SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL: Music groups for pre-school children 0-4 years old .
MUSIC EXPLORERS: Occasional sessions for children aged 4-7, with song, percussion and an introduction to a wide range of musical instruments.
TASTER SESSIONS: Occasional sessions for 7-12 year olds, to give them the opportunity to try a wide range of musical instruments, violins, violas, cellos, pbones, clarinets, saxophones, flutes. Sessions run by qualified and experienced tutors.
SPYM group sessions: For youngsters aged 7-18. Choir, Percussion, Beginner String & Brass players, Intermediate string players and Orchestra

Is there a charge to use this service?

Yes - SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL (SRR) for pre-school children £6 / session
MUSIC EXPLORERS (ME) £6 / session
SPYM group sessions for 7-18 yr olds £7 / session
Reduction in fees if there is more than one child in the same family
Financial help for FSM families and special requests for financial help all considered.
INSTRUMENT HIRE £10 or £20 per term

    Please contact to discuss your child(s) needs further.   Wheelchair access available for our sessions. Certain learning disabilities can be catered for.

SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL: Fridays 9.30am and 10.30am
SPYM : Wednesdays 4.30pm - 6.15pm
