What we do

SPPOT provides a huge range of daily dog training & activity sessions, outdoor experiences, community activities & life skills training for people who have disabilities & health conditions.
Every person who comes to SPPOT has different abilities but at SPPOT everyone learns how to care for dogs properly & ethically, in ways that suit them best.
Some of the benefits of becoming part of the SPPOT Team include:
• A clear purpose and worthwhile role in the community
• Developing empathy, care skills, responsibility, resilience, creative thinking, social skills & communication
• Dog walking provides fresh air, exercise, motivation, improves physical and mental wellbeing, community engagement—and fun!
Importantly, many skills for life can be taught through the medium of dogs - for example:
• Teamwork and self-reliance
• Customer service skills
• Bus skills and skills for navigation on foot
• Laundry, budgeting, cooking, cleaning

Who do we support

SPPOT provides adult (18+) day services with 1:1 and group support for people who have learning & physical disabilities, autism and so on.
We also provide supported training & volunteering opportunities for adults & young people to become Volunteer Dog Walkers.
Our highly skilled staff are trained in social care & dog training, along with specialist skills in teaching, Total Communication, canine behaviour, accredited training & much more.
The building bright, safe, and very well equipped. It’s all on one level and is fully wheelchair accessible, including the garden, with safe access onto the Racecourse.
Everyone brings a packed lunch and quick microwave meals can be brought in too. We provide drinks, snacks and soup and toast if anyone forgets their lunch. We can cater for different diets & preferences, including private eating areas.

Daily Charge Fee for DOIT framework £56.13 per day. 1:1 cost would be charged additionally on an hourly rate.

You will be book and pay for 4 sessions in advance for our service, even if you miss one or 2 sessions.

You must provide 28 days' notice if you wish to leave us.
