What we do

We provide free and independent support for both prosecution and defence witnesses in every criminal court in England and Wales.
Our trained volunteers provide practical information about the process, as well as emotional support to help witnesses feel more confident when giving evidence.

This service is for people of all ages.

Is there a charge to use this service?

No

Can anyone use this service?

Witnesses can get support from us on the day of trial, with no need for earlier contact with us. However, we can provide more comprehensive support if they’re referred in advance. Witnesses can be referred to our service or contact us themselves. They can have a pre-trial visit over the phone, in person, by video call, or simply access information about our services online. For those who are particularly vulnerable, we provide more in-depth support.

Monday - Friday: 9am - 6pm.
