Who do we support
When someone in a Welsh farming family dies, we often feel that loss as a community. There may be added pressures for a grieving family to keep the farm going. The support from family, friends and the community at this time can give people the space to grieve.
People may experience a wide range of emotions following the loss of a loved one and it can sometimes be difficult to know what to say or how to support them. This course will give you an understanding of how people might experience bereavement & grief, including bereavement following an unexpected death like an accident or suicide. It will help you understand the things you can say that might help (and those that might not) and what support to offer; how to spot the signs that someone might need extra support and that specialist help. You will also learn about The DPJ Foundation’s bereavement support service.
We are grateful to the Welsh Government for fully funding this course.
