What we do

If you've never heard of a community pantry, they provide groceries at a lower cost than supermarkets or shops, offering a range of fresh and general foods which change on a weekly basis through a membership scheme.

Anyone can access their local community pantry; all it takes is to sign up as a member at the pantry, which then allows you to use the community pantry once a week. Pantries work to help reduce food waste going to landfill by working with local food businesses.

For us, this means:

Affordable Food: Our members will pay £1 to join the pantry and then have access to Baobab Bach reusable “Purple Bag”. Each bag will contain up to 15 items of quality, affordable food to help fill up cupboards and make meals for only £5.

Helping Reduce Waste: We will work with local organisations, FareShare Cymru, and a variety of supermarkets to stock our pantry. To date Baobab Bach have managed to save over 100 tonnes of food from going to landfill.
