What we do

Community Agents are an innovative response to a recognised need that many people living in our communities are unable to connect with key services that help and maintain well-being and support their quality of life.
Community Agents work with the over 50s in Wrexham, providing easy access to a wide range of information that will enable them to make informed choices about their present and future needs. The aim is to help older people feel more independent,secure,and cared for, and to have a better quality of life.
Community Agents support people living in areas of Wrexham, bridging the gap between the local community and the statutory or voluntary organisations and are able to offer help or support.The scheme works because Agents live close to/in the communities in which they work. Consequently, they know the villages and their people well.

Who do we support

Adults over 50 years old in Offa
Community Agents will provide you with an overview of services available in the county and offer you help to access them, including:
• improving your health and wellbeing
• applications and claims to access services
• income maximisation (benefit & debt support)
• signposting to appropriate services
• reconnecting you with your local community
• connecting with others using digital technology
• establishing local clubs & activities

PLEASE NOTE - Where there is a need, OFFA Community Agent is able to request a foodbank voucher for people over 50 and on low income or benefits

This service is for people aged between 50 years and 100 years.

Usual working hours are:
Tuesday - 10am - 4pm
Wednesday - 10am - 4pm
Thursday - 2 hours floating throughout the day depending on need
