What we do

Porters is more than just a beloved bar; it's the home to so much more. It has long been a favourite haunt for local creatives, musicians, and anyone looking for a lively night out in the Welsh capital. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, Porters is the home of local entertainment. Often packed with local talent and touring shows. Whether you’re a theatre buff, a casual gig-goer, or just someone who loves discovering something new, this is one to visit.

Learn about everything going on at Porters by visiting our website or social media. All of our events are free-entry and non-ticketed so you just need to show up early enough to guarantee entry.

Events are held Tue-Thurs and start at 8pm and bands are Fri-Sat starting at 9:30pm.

We host a regular open mic night on Tuesday evenings, sign-ups start from 7pm and slots start from 8pm.
Our popular PUB QUIZ runs every Sunday from 7:30pm. There is a maximum of 6 people per team and the entry fee is £1 per team member.

Who do we support

Our premises license only allows under 18’s to be allowed on site until 7:30pm.

Porters is a community driven venue where anyone, musicians, promoters, university societies and creatives can pitch ideas and shape our calendar. We welcome creatives of all types in our warm and welcoming venue. We want to remove barriers and help support people to host events and experiences.

We've recently opened our brand new 60 seat theatre
