What we do

Grŵp Cynefin, a registered housing association providing more than 4,500 homes for rent to families and people across North Wales

Gorwel is a Business Unit within Grŵp Cynefin. Gorwel’s main focus is to provide support services in the field of domestic abuse and homelessness prevention. Gorwel operates in Gwynedd, Môn & Denbighshire; projects include refuges, supported housing schemes, children and young people services and support in the community.

The type of support provided can include:
Support with life skills and independent living skills
Support to manage finances and maximise income, to draw up budget plans and claim welfare benefits
Support in responding to housing issues and maintaining a tenancy
Support to access education, training and employment opportunities
Support to attend meetings with external agencies.
Advice and support to lead a healthy and active lifestyle
Support to improve the quality of life

Floating Support for women, men and families
24 hour emergency refuges
Children and Young People’s Service

Homelessness Prevention (Gwynedd, Denbighshire & Anglesey)

Gwynedd Floating Support – preventing homelessness for individuals and families
Gwynedd Floating Support (Complex Needs/Mental Health) – specialist housing support for people with complex needs, working in partnership with BCUHB
Gwynedd Supported Housing – for homeless individuals and families
Denbighshire Supported Housing – for young people aged 16–25
Denbighshire Floating Support – preventing homelessness for individuals and families
Anglesey Older People’s Floating Support – housing related support for people aged 55+

Referrals are made to the Local Authority's Single Point of Access Department - either Gwynedd, Anglesey or Denbighshire
