What we do

Join us every Thursday from the 11th of December at Roseheyworth Community Woodlands in Abertillery!
As Community Nature Guardians, we will be repairing benches, planting up flower beds, and building wildlife habitats.

Sessions will run from 1:30pm-4pm in a fun and informal manner. We think that individuals facing mental health challenges could find benefit in joining us as a Community Nature Guardian volunteer.

Volunteering gives individuals the opportunity to:
Meet new people
Feel a part of a community
Have a sense of achievement
Get physically active
Spend time outdoors, improving mental wellbeing
Learn new skills
Have experiences in nature
Learn about wildlife

Activities during volunteer sessions include:
Tree planting
Creating wildlife habitats
Litter picking
Sweeping leaves from paths
Clearing vegetation around footpaths

Groundwork Wales' Community Nature Guardians programme is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund

This service is for people aged between 16 years and 100 years.
