Bodhyfryd is a six-bed house in Llandudno which provides emergency accommodation to men at risk of homelessness after being released from prison. Support is delivered in-house from Adferiad, and a “move-on” plan is developed with Conwy Council. We develop a support plan with our residents which gives clarity of what is expected from staff and themselves. We support clients with life skills, such as offering cooking lessons and budgeting; all areas to enable the client to live independently. Our overall goal is to support clients to end criminal activity and remain out of prison. The person-centred support plan gives both the client and Housing Support Mentor a clear understanding of the client’s goals and how they will be supported to achieve them. We also clients on arrival to make a claim for UC and register with a GP and Dentist. Staff can accompany clients to all appointments if needed e.g., probation, medical, social services, and solicitors.
We primarily offer support to men who will be homeless upon leaving prison. Our clients can have a range of needs from mental health diagnoses, to having years of criminal behaviour and homelessness.
This service is for people aged 18+.
