Free Afro Hair Care Workshops in Wrexham - Event

What we do

Done Together CIC has secured a grant from Adferiad to deliver five Afro hair workshops in February 2026 in partnership with Dare to Dream Hair Salon and Wrexham University.
The sessions are completely free and take place at

- Victoria CP School on Tues 3rd Feb @ 5 - 7pm
- Lle Hapus, Eagles Meadow on Fri 6th Feb @ 5-7pm
- Ysgol Maes y Mynydd, Rhos on Tues 10th Feb @ 5-7pm
- Online - Friday 13th Feb @ 5-7pm
- Pentre Gwyn Communiy Centre, Caia Park Tues 24th Feb @ 5-7pm

Each workshop is designed to give people practical knowledge, confidence and reassurance when caring for afro-textured hair including;
- Simple explanations of hair science, including porosity, moisture and texture
- Making low-cost, natural hair masks using everyday food ingredients
- Demonstrations of protective hairstyles with local stylists
- A live Q&A with professionals
- Personal hair care diary

This project is supported by a Welsh Government Culture Grant Scheme Grant, administered by Adferiad

Who do we support

Want practical tips, confidence and the right know-how? This free, friendly workshop is for:
👩🏾‍🦱 People with afro-textured hair
👨‍👩‍👧 Families caring for someone with afro hair
🏡 Foster carers & carers in the community
🧑‍⚕️ Care home staff & support workers
🤍 Anyone who would benefit from this knowledge
