March 14, 2026Date: 14/03/2026Time: 10:00 amDiscover the history and wildlife of the woodlands of Cardiff North.Join a guided walk with the Community Ranger Service and delve into the area’s past, from ancient woodland remnants to more recent industrial uses. Along the way, keep an eye out for an array of birdlife and observe the variety of woodland habitats emerge into Spring. Bring a flask of coffee and packed lunch.Meet at the lower Wenallt Car Park. Please note that the car park is small and gets busy on weekends. If there is no space, there is an additional car park that can be found further up Wenallt Road. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment, we will be leaving promptly from the car park.This walk will be approximately 7km and take around 3 hours to complete. All are welcome on this walk but please note that the route contains areas that are steep and requires walking through some challenging conditions.
