What we do

Patients, visitors and staff at Cardiff’s hospitals can enjoy free, round-the-clock access to books, thanks to a partnership between Cardiff Hubs and Libraries and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
Four library vending machines are available at:

University Hospital of Wales (concourse)
Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital (near the café)
University Hospital Llandough (Outpatients reception)
University Hospital Llandough (Hospital Restaurant)

The machines are stocked with a wide range of fiction, non-fiction, and health and wellbeing titles—including books from the Reading Well Books on Prescription scheme, recommended by health experts and people with lived experience.

This service is for people of all ages.
