What we do

Ty Hapus Charitable Incorporated Organisation has supported people and their families affected by Dementia for over 11 years. Based in Barry we work across the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff.
Ty Hapus supports people of any age living with a diagnosis of dementia with a particular focus on people diagnosed with a Young Onset Dementia (diagnosed before the age of 65).
Ty Hapus provides daytime support and respite in our homely Barry base or in other venues. We regard each person as our guest for the day. We welcome the opportunity to offer shared support to family members who are welcome to join with us either in our premises or in the activities we organise. Ty Hapus offers people many different activities from walking groups and sporting activities to social support within Ty Hapus itself. We aim to provide stimulating, age appropriate and socially entertaining activities in a dignified and comfortable space.

Who do we support

Ty Hapus is a service for people and their families affected by Dementia. We have two distinct services - Those for people diagnosed before the age of 65 and those for people over 65 with no upper age limit.
Simply complete a registration form to join in with our activities or a referral form if you are interested in day support. We also have a free counselling service for families and friends of people living with dementia.

Is there a charge to use this service?

Yes - Attendance at Ty Hapus is free of charge. A £15.00 daily charge applies for lunch.

Can anyone use this service?

People may self refer, or refer through a relative, friend or health and/or social care professional.
