What we do

Flying Start is an early years programme set up by Welsh Government to support families by providing health advice, learning skills support and practical ideas to support themselves and their children towards a bright future. Services include:

Enhanced Health Services
Flying Start Health Visitors are able to offer eligible families much more support. Health Professionals deliver both home based and group sessions such as baby massage, and post natal support. Speech and Language therapists are able to advise and support children's early language development. Flying Start has a Dietetics Team on hand to provide lots of information and activities about making food healthy and fun.

Free Childcare
Living in a Flying Start catchment entitles a child to a free part-time childcare place, where one is available.

Parenting Programmes
Cardiff Flying Start offers a variety of parenting programmes. These are available to Flying Start families in their own home or in the local community.
