What we do

Whether you are an avid reader, enjoy films, love music, or just want to keep up to date with local and world news, our libraries can fill your needs with its’ extensive choice of books, DVDs, CDs, online services, newspapers and magazines, there is something for everyone! With over half a million books on offer between 3 regional, 13 branch and mobile libraries you’re never too far away from a centre of knowledge.

Stordy Creadigol, located at Ammanford, Carmarthen and Llanelli library, offers an accessible space to invent and create a comprehensive array of products. From printing to scanning 3D objects, recording your own music, and producing a video, or coding your own software. We have the latest tools available to produce your concept into a functioning prototype.
We have a number of affordable and flexible venues for hire at Carmarthenshire Libraries

Public access computers and Wi-Fi are available at all libraries.

Is there a charge to use this service?

Depends - As of 3 April 2023, our Mobile Library Service will provide this service. Please visit the calendar to find your nearest stop.

The mobile library carries a choice of books for adults and children, in English and in Welsh, including popular fiction and non-fiction, as well as large print titles. Audio and Visual material is also available.

If the mobile library doesn't have the type of books you like, you can request any item from any of the public libraries in Carmarthenshire for free either via our online catalogue or through our mobile library staff.
