Have choice and take control
The Welsh Association of ME/CFS Support (WAMES), through website, news blog, email, Facebook, twitter and Instagram, provides ways to access information and discuss issues of interest for people with ME, their families, carers and service providers in Wales. We share information about ME, an illness which can make you very unwell and weak, and in some people can last for a long time. It belongs to the family of illnesses called ‘neurological’. People of all ages can get it. It is an illness of many names but we prefer to call it MEME – Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or ME/CFS.We also share information about PVFS – Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome [You may be told this is what you have if your recovery from Glandular Fever or another virus is slow].Long COVID is also a post-viral condition and many people may also meet the criteria for ME/CFS and can benefit from information that helps people with ME.
We welcome queries and information from anyone interested in ME/CFS, PVFS, Long COVID or other post-viral conditions.
This service is for people of all ages.

Providers can (subject to rules around language standards that apply to some provision) choose to enter their information in English only, in Welsh only, or bilingually. Whilst we try to use the technology within the site to limit the impact of their choice, both terminology and the structure of the languages mean that differences in the results produced is sometimes inevitable.
