What we do

A bilingual Playschool catering for 2 - 4 year olds. We care and educate children through the curriculum for Wales non maintained settings and also have Flying Start places available. Collection from Ysgol Tudno for Nursery children to attend during the afternoon session. Approved registered setting for Early Education.

Please note that this setting is part of the Tiny Tums Scheme. Tiny Tums is a Best Practice award for Early Years childcare providers in North Wales. The award, managed by NHS Public Health Dietitians, recognises and rewards excellence in settings for providing food and drink for 1 – 4 year olds that meet Welsh Government guidance

Can anyone use this service?

anyone can use the service, we have many referrals to us, working with children with ALN, we also use some BSL and Makaton dependng on the needs of the child

This service is provided in English with some bilingual elements.

Provider has access to support and advice for Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
We support all children with ALN, from behavioural problems, speech and language to development delays. There are stairs into the setting which may be an issue for those with mobility issues.
Provider has a working knowledge of the ALN Act and Person Centred Planning approaches
We follow the new ALN Act and work in partnership with the local LA
Staff have accessed relevant ALN/disability training in the last 2 years?
Numerous training sessions have been attended by all staff in the setting from ALNet, Portage training to ADHD training

We have had differing nationalities within the setting in the past, including Egyptian, Polish, Lithuanian, Czech, Bulgarian, Thai, Chinese, Indian, Bangladeshi. We accommodated by working with parents, using translators, signs and picture cards. We have been nominated nationally for 2 years as setting and practitioner of the year and won Highly Commended Practitioner of the year 2019 		Yes
