What we do

We are part of the 4 core elements for the Flying Start programme, which are Parenting, Early Language, Enhanced Health Visiting and Childcare. First Friends Nursery offer families a free childcare place for their child the term after their 2nd birthday up until they are 3 years old.

We provide high quality childcare and promote children's wellbeing and development through planned high quality activities. We work closely with other health care professionals such as Health Visitors, Social Workers, Speech Therapist and many more to support families and children with their individual needs.

Can anyone use this service?

Only Families who live within the Flying Start area can request to use our service.

  Our opening times and availability

We are available: term time only.

We are available during the following school terms:

  • Autumn term
  • Spring term
  • Summer term

We are unable to provide wrap around care.

  Our costs

  • £0.00 per Session - The Flying Start Programme is available to those eligiable Families Living in a designated Flying Start Area.
  • £9.30 per Hour - Flying Start Childcare welcomes fee paying children who are not eligable to receive childcare through the Flying Start Programme because they may live outside the designated Flying Start catchment area.
