What we do

St Winefrides Preschool is a charitable childcare setting providing high-quality, nurturing care for children aged 2–4 years. Based within the local primary school, we offer a warm, homely environment that supports a smooth and confident transition into full-time education.

We are registered to care for up to 19 children and are inspected by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and Estyn. Our most recent CIW inspection awarded us two ‘Excellent’ and two ‘Good’ judgements, reflecting the high standards we consistently maintain. We are proud to hold a 5-star Food Hygiene rating and to be recognised as a Healthy Preschool. Our calming yet stimulating indoor environment encourages children to learn through play, in line with the current Welsh Curriculum. Children also benefit from access to our extensive Forest School area, complete with an outdoor classroom, mud kitchen, climbing opportunities, and rich natural surroundings that inspire exploration, curiosity, and hands-on learning.
