What we do

Flying Start is the Welsh Government targeted Early Years programme for families with children under 4 years of age in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Wales. The core elements of the programme are drawn from a range of options that have been shown to influence positive outcomes for children and their families. These include:
• free quality, part-time childcare for 2-3 year olds;
• an enhanced health visiting service;
• parenting support; and
• support for speech, language and communication development.

Flying Start childcare is gradually being expanded to include more 2 year olds across Wales. Please contact your Family Information Service (FIS) to inquire about the availability in your area.

Who do we support

We provide Flying Start sessions for children aged 2-3 years in Ruabon area. Mini World provides wraparound sessions to compliment these, see link below.

Experience/Training/ Qualifications: Staff qualifications include NNEB, NVQ3, 4 or 5 levels, Play work Level3. All staff undergo continuous training program and attend mandatory training in Pediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene. Basic Makaton is available.
