What we do

Cwtsh y Clos Nursery is a childcare centre in Llanarthney, Carmarthen. We welcome children between the ages of 6 weeks to 7 years into our care. Cwtsh y Clos Nursery is a Welsh nursery and conducts activities through the medium of Welsh. We also offer support and guidance to children in order to develop their bilingualism in a natural environment, as well as supporting parents and guardians in a similar manner.
Our main aim at Cwtsh y Clos to provide children with a calm, caring and friendly environment which is surrounded by nature and natural resources. We believe that through doing this they will learn and experience the wonders of our world.

Who do we support

Our Nursery is aimed at children and their parents who want a caring and nurturing environment. We are situated on a small holding which is 500 meters from the main farm. The children have an opportunity to see sheep/lambs, cows and a horse during the year as all these animals graze regularly around the small holding. We also have our own chickens and a rabbit which the children help care for. Although we are a Welsh Medium setting we respect the child's home language and teach Welsh alongside their first language. We have children who are tri-lingual within the Nursery. We also cater for children with additional learning needs along with children with allergies.

Anyone can use our service by contacting us daily. No referral needed.

We are available: all year round. We currently have limited availability.

We can provide wrap around care. We can offer wrap around care for local school and cylchoedd meithrin.

We are open all year round but are closed bank holidays and a week between Christmas and New Year. You do not need to pay for these days as the nursery is closed.

Provider has access to support and advice for Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
We are happy to care for children with additional learning needs through the support of the health visitor, small steps team and other agencies.
Provider has a working knowledge of the ALN Act and Person Centred Planning approaches
We try to ensure that we cater for children's individual needs.
Staff have accessed relevant ALN/disability training in the last 2 years?
Just to name a few training course that staff attend, we have regular speech and language training, child trauma, child behaviour and we are a ASD aware nursery.
Outside space
A very large grassed area with trees and plants. We enjoying using the outdoors through-out the year
Will you use real nappies for children in your care?
Parents to supply their own nappies, wipes and creams.
Is the setting pet free?
We have a horse and chickens that are kept outside. Also farm animals in nearby fields.
