What we do

Playgroup, sometimes known as Preschool is childcare where children usually aged 2 years to school age are cared for, rather than care being provided for babies or toddlers.

Typically, playgroups operate from community centres, school sites or church buildings during school term-time only, however, some do operate all year round. Opening times can vary from short daily sessions of 2-4 hours or halfdays to all day*. Many offer a wraparound session (where they can drop off or collect your child from school) for children who are part-time in a local primary school.

Who do we support

Happy Days is registered to provide full day care between 9am and 3pm.
We offer a Playgroup,
Funded Early Education from January to July, for those entitled.
Playgroup Plus (wraparound) cares for those children attending Penygelli School Nursery classes.
We also offer the 30 hours Childcare Offer scheme.
Happy Days also run an After School Club to offer flexible childcare provision to help support children and their parents/carers (see weblink below).

Our qualified staff have the following Qualifications and Training Certificates
NVQ Level 5 Early years childcare and management, (1 Staff member) NVQ Level 3 Early Years Childcare & Learning Development (2 Staff members)
Hold relevant and ongoing training certificates in
First Aid
Planning for Early Education
Food Hygiene
Safeguarding
Any other courses we may require throughout the year.

We are available: term time only.

We can provide wrap around care. Pick up at Penygelli School only.

Playgroup from the age of 2.5yrs, 9-11am. Education sessions from 3 yrs, 9 -11am during Spring and Summer terms. Wraparound childcare for children of school nursery age, 11.30am-3pm. Overall childcare hours 9am - 3pm.

  Our costs

  • £10.00 per Session - Playgroup session 9-11am
  • £22.50 per Session - Playgroup Plus session 9.00am - 12.35pm & 11.30am -3pm
  • £35.00 per Session - Childcare session 9am - 3pm

We have the following additional costs :

  • £0.70 - Snack ( for Early Education children only)
  • £10.00 - Registration Fee ( for all groups paid yearly)
